LaNette “Aisha” Kennerly – Advisor
LaNette has been with AVP since 2012, initially serving as a Board member for 5 years and later as a member of the Board Advisory Committee. She has served as lead program instructor and train the trainer for our after-school program instructors, and as house Director for the organization’s community stage play productions.
LaNette has over 30 years of experience as a teacher in the Pomona school district and 30 years of experience in community theatre. She served for 5 years as the Director of the Rialto Youth Theatre Ensemble (RYTE), a community theatre group for youth ages 10-22, and has also served as an instructor in acting techniques, blocking stage presence, and the stage manager for several seasonal productions. LaNette holds an Administrative Credential, a BA Degree in Social Welfare, and a MA Degree in Education.
Dorothy “Dotti” Stallworth – Advisor
Dorothy is a founding Board member serving in many capacities of the organization during its inception and establishment of its programs. She served faithfully as a Board member, later joining the Board Advisory Committee.
Dotti is committed to motivating and assisting children and youth to become passionate lifelong learners. Moreover, she encourages them to exhaustively develop their God-given gifts and talents to become productive communities and or worldwide participants.
Dotti is a retired teacher from the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), where she taught various grade levels including the gifted magnet program, and gives back to the community by providing free after-school tutoring to low-income families. Dotti has received awards and recognition in the “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers” and “Teachers Making a Difference,” and holds an AS Degree in Liberal Arts and a BS Degree in Early Childhood Education.
Barbara A. Gatewood – Advisor
Barbara is a founding Board member serving in various capacities of the organization during its inception and establishment of its programs, and most recently joined the Board Advisory Committee.
Barbara is a music history scholar, very passionate about youth and education, and assists with the music selections for incorporation in the program scripts and community stage play productions.
Barbara has over 35 years of experience in diverse administrative and legal positions in fast-paced environments, she is responsible for all of AVP’s vendor relations, and advises the Board on contractual and legal matters.
